Kim Rae-won and Shin Se-kyung are set to play roles in the upcoming SBS fantasy romance drama “Black Knight,” the drama’s production team said Monday.

The drama tells the story of a young successful businessman who accepts a dangerous fate on behalf of his lover. In Korea, the word “Black Knight” often refers to a man who solves a difficult situation for a woman -- such as drinking alcohol instead of her during a drinking game.

Kim will play the male lead Moon Su-ho in the drama. “I thought the drama is like a film. I was assured by the detailed depiction of the director and solid story line of the writer,” he said.

Shin will play a double role of the female lead Jung Hae-ra as well as a character who is her opposite. “I’m excited to work with good senior actors, director and writer. I will try my best to show you a good performance,” she said.

“Black Knight” is set to air in December, hot on the heels of “Mad Dog.”
