BTS’ Jimin, on his 22nd birthday Friday, kept an earlier promise to air a V live broadcast.

Jimin had promised a week prior during Rap Monster’s album review V broadcast that he would come back on V live soon himself.

“So many people have congratulated me for my birthday,” said Jimin, mentioning the large posters featuring his photo and a birthday message plastered on subway station walls and as public bus advertisements.

“My parents saw the posters in Busan, and they thought I was going to hold a solo concert,” said Jimin, expressing his thanks to fans for their well wishes.

Jimin aired live from Osaka, Japan, where BTS was to hold concerts at Kyocera Dome on Saturday and Sunday.

“We were there for rehearsals today. (The dome is) gigantic!” exclaimed Jimin. He showed off photos he had taken of his fellow BTS singers inside the dome. “You see how they look so small, like dots, inside the dome?”

Jimin said he would later return after the concerts to share how he felt on stage. “I’ll try not to cry this time after the show,” Jimin said. “Many of you think I’m a crybaby because I always cry after a concert. I don’t cry so often to be true, but on stage I’m always so overwhelmed with emotions.”

Jimin’s broadcast, 35 minutes in length, received over 29 million hearts within 8 hours.

NU’EST W

NU’EST W, quintet NU’EST’s subunit without Hwang Min-hyun, shared a behind-the-scenes video of the group working on the recording of its recently released album “W, HERE.”

“W, HERE” released Tuesday.

Baekho said he wrote the title song “Where You At” on Jeju Island, where he is originally from. “I wrote the song from my home and completed it at the team’s residence. Actually, the next morning I was dead and Bumzu finished it while I was asleep,” Baekho said, referring to the songwriter who helps write for NU’EST and Seventeen.

Each of the bandmates has a solo song on the album. JR said that for his song, “With,” he completely rewrote the lyrics to enhance the delivery.

Baekho, JR, Ren and Aron took turns singing parts of their songs inside the recording suite.

The video garnered over 2 million hearts in 11 hours.

Kim Jae-joong

Kim Jae-joong discussed his upcoming fan event via V on Friday.

“Hello? I’m hungry,” Jae-joong began the broadcast. Just as Jae-joong proclaimed his famished state, the camera swerved down to the table in front of him, laden with pork trotter and noodle dishes.

“Remember, I told you to prepare your own snack?” Jae-joong said, joking with viewers. He continued the broadcast while feasting on the bounty before him.

Jae-joong asked fans how they had spent the Korean Thanksgiving holiday Chuseok. Jae-joong said he was in France, after which he went home to spend time with family.

Jae-joong wanted to talk about his upcoming fan event. “The songs you want me to sing for you at the fan event … Sunmi’s ‘Gashina,’ Yoon Jong-shin’s ‘Like it,’ Bolbbangan4’s ‘Galaxy,’ Heize’s ‘You, Clouds, Rain,’ Wanna One’s ‘Pick Me,’” he said, eventually trailing off. The list went on seemingly endlessly, including both the latest and classic hits of K-pop.

“Sunmi’s ‘Gashina’ is a shocking pick,” Jae-joong laughed. “’Gashina’ is too difficult, I’ll probably choose something else,” he said. The female solo is notoriously high-pitched.

As for the talents fans wanted Jae-joong to display at the fan event, dancing, playing the piano and becoming a radio DJ where he reads stories sent in by the fans and recommends his favorite songs were among the favorites. Fans also wanted Jae-joong to cook, share a highlight video showing Jae-joong’s weekly life and more.

Jae-joong read the real-time comments left on his live broadcast, and said he would take every idea into consideration with the fan event’s time frame in mind.

Jae-joong’s fan event will take place Oct. 29 at Kyung Hee University’s Grand Peace Palace in Seoul.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
