After breaking records worldwide with its latest EP “Love Yourself Seung Her,” BTS made history yet again with its new album becoming the most sold Korean music record in 16 years, data showed Friday.

According to Gaon Chart, the album has sold over 1.2 million copies between its release on Sept. 18 and end-September, topping the record set by boy band g.o.d’s fourth album, which was released in November 2001 and sold about 1.44 million copies during the month.

“Love Yourself Seung Her” sold over 750,000 copies in the first week of its release. Preorders had reached over 1,112,000 copies.

BTS has also become the first Korean artist to have stayed on US magazine Billboard’s two main charts for three consecutive weeks.

In the week of Oct. 21, “Love Yourself Seung Her” debuted at No. 35 on the Billboard 200 chart while its lead track “DNA” secured the No. 87 spot on the Hot 100 chart.

After wrapping up promotion for “Love Yourself Seung Her” on Thursday, BTS will hold concerts at the Kyocera dome in Osaka on Saturday and Sunday.
