The members of Boyfriend made songpyeon on the V app Wednesday.

Songpyeon (half-moon rice cakes) are a traditional Korean food eaten during the Korean thanksgiving festival, Chuseok.

“Today is Chuseok! What do we do on Chuseok holiday?” Donghyun asked in the beginning of the show.

“Well, first we greet our grandparents and spend a good time with our families,” Minwoo said. “And don’t we usually make songpyeon together?”

“It would be great to make songpyeon for you but (it is not possible) so we are going to make songpyeon on video!” Donghyun said.

During the show, the group was divided into two teams and held a competition to make the best songpyeon. Jungmin, Kwangmin and Minwoo formed one team while Donghyun, Hyunsung and Youngmin formed the other.

At first, the singers struggled to make songpyeon but soon they got used to it even tried to make special shapes such as rabbits, using the pink, white and green-colored dough.

After they finished cooking, their manager came out to evaluate the dishes and decide the winner. The manager chose Donghyun’s team’s songpyeon without hesitation. Jungmin’s team, which lost at the competition, had to finish the dishes and clean up the kitchen as a penalty.

“It was a really happy time making songpyeon. Have a happy holiday,” Donghyun said closing the show.
