V app’s fashion channel “V Fashion” took the viewers to different fashion weeks around Europe.

Throughout the month of September, the V Fashion channel traveled from one fashion event to another, from London to Milan and Paris.

For the London Fashion Week that took place between Sept. 15 and 19, V app interviewed London College of Fashion’s lecturer Karinna Nobbs.

Nobbs, who is also a freelancer within the creative technology sector, told the V audience that she is “Obsessed with fashion and technology, because of the way that it can enhance creativity and also democratize fashion for a number of people.”

“London Fashion Week is about newness. In London, you never know what you’ll get. It‘s always a surprise,” said Nobbs, comparing the fashion culture in London to that of New York’s where things are more minimalistic and urban.

Nobbs said that this year‘s London Fashion Week centered around the theme of “sub-urban chic” that took inspiration from older housewife motifs such as frills, mother-of-pearl, cushion bags and slippers that bring out the quirky, British eccentricity.

“We can’t ignore K-fashion. We’ve seen it being much more referenced not just for designers and not just for, for instance, those who sit in the front row of the catwalk shows but for mainstream consumers,” Nobbs said.

“My students are doing selfies with face masks on their face, and street style fashion blogs from Seoul and other places in Korea are showing newer emerging brands,” said Nobbs, adding that department stores in UK are featuring more adventurous fashion from Korea.
