Ju Ji-hoon has been offered a role in “Kingdom,” an upcoming Netflix series penned by writer Kim Eun-hee.

“Ju Ji-hoon received an offer to play the male lead in ‘Kingdom,’ He is looking favorably on the offer,” said Keyeast, which represents the actor.

If he accepts the offer, it will be Ju’s return to small screen in two years since SBS’ “Mask” in 2015.

Song Joong-ki had earlier been offered the role but declined.

“Kingdom” is an eight-episode zombie action thriller set in the Joseon era. It will be penned by Kim Eun-hee, who was behind tvN’s “Signal,” and directed by Kim Sung-hoon, who directed last year’s disaster thriller “Tunnel” starring Ha Jung-woo.

“Kingdom” will premiere exclusively on Netflix in 2018.
