On the latest episode of MBC’s talk show “Oppa Thinking,” Lee Dae-hwi said the reason he attracted public attention was because he was ugly.

Five members of Wanna One, including Lee, appeared as guests on Monday’s episode. They were asked about their attractive traits when dancing to “Pick Me” on Mnet’s audition show “Produce 101.”

Lee mentioned the iconic wink scene which had captured the public’s attention after the video of “Pick Me” was released.

“I wanted to look handsome during the ending pose doing something like the wink but I ended up looking ugly. I think that made an impression,” he said, adding that people might have thought he was a talented singer who does not rely on his looks.

He said his hair was all messed up and his nostrils were flaring as he gasped for breath during the final pose, as he had danced so hard.

“After I was shown in the shot, the camera captured very handsome people,” he said.
