Singer and actor Park Yu-chun took to Naver V app Friday to greet fans. Park was discharged late Friday from the Gangnam District Office in southern Seoul, where he served as a public worker in substitution for his military service.

“Hello, this is Park Yu-chun. I finished my military service safe and sound. I wanted to greet you personally through this broadcast, although I’ve previously delivered my words in front of the press,” Park said.

“During my service period, I received a lot of strength thanks your encouragement. Thank you again. I hope to share my whereabouts through upcoming events and activities, and I will make an effort to do so,” he added.

Park wrapped up the video by telling fans that he felt sorry and thankful at the same time.

In June last year, a series of sexual assault complaints were filed against him. Although he was cleared of rape charges later, the accusations and rumors about his private life left his clean and innocent image in tatters.

After being discharged from military on Friday evening, Park also thanked the fans that gathered outside the district office building but declined to comment on his immediate future.

Singer Heo Young-ji shared her previous hard times through Naver V app, an hour head of the release of her solo debut single.

In the video, Heo confesses that excessive stress had driven her to become bulimic once and that she cried a lot back then at the time.

“Back then, I ate and ate, but didn’t feel full at all. It was as if I was ill. So I ate more while crying out loud,” Heo said.

“I was under a lot of stress. One day I looked myself in the full-length mirror, and I looked so shabby. I cried so much that I got tired and fell asleep,” she added.

In her dreams, Heo said she saw a younger version of herself when she was still a trainee.

“That young Heo Young-ji was practicing so hard. So I hugged her. I think that was the time I gained faith in myself that I could overcome all these hardships,” Heo said.

Bong Joon-ho

Bong Joon-ho, the visionary director of films like “Okja” and “Snowpiercer,” made the mistake of spoiling the ending for the movie “Baby Driver.”

During a Naver V live show for the movie, starring director Edgar Wright, Bong appeared as a special guest and the two discussed the film.

In his excitement -- having watched the film that he said “pumped up the adrenaline inside him” -- he accidentally discussed the ending to the viewers who did not yet see the film.

“I forgot it was being broadcast live. I’d like to apologize to the viewers. Please keep an eye on Jamie Fox,” he said.
Bong added he would like to take his hat off to Wright for making such film.

“His tempo and editing is amazing. No matter how fast the pace is, things never get out of hand,” he said.

The film “Baby Driver” was released in US and UK on June 28, and is slated to hit Korean theaters on Sept.14.

Naver’s real-time broadcasting app V allows fans to interact with their favorite K-pop stars through live broadcasts. The app is available for Android and iOS. For more information, visit http://www.vlive.tv.
