K-pop songstress Lee Hyo-ri showed her unedited self in a recent photo shoot for the Korean edition of fashion magazine W.

Photographer Kim Tae-eun took to her Instagram account to reveal an anecdote from the photo shoot with Lee.

Posting Lee’s photos, Kim wrote, “Hyo-ri said she wanted to take photos without makeup. I told her ‘let‘s just even out your skin tone,’ but she said ‘Then it has no meaning. I will just put on some lotion.’”

“I was so proud that there’s an artist, a woman, a person like her in Korea,” she wrote. “We took the photos thinking that we could still be beautiful and cool enough in this world full of lies.”

Kim added that the photos were taken with a film camera. Adding the hashtag “#noretouching,” the photographer revealed the photos were also not graphically edited.

The fashion spread, including more of her photos, will be published in the magazine’s September issue.
