Her new song "Gashina," which is a demeaning term for the word "girl" in Korean, was released at noon. It is her first work released after moving from JYP Entertainment to her current agency MAKEUS Entertainment in February.
Co-produced by The Black Label, a music production subsidiary under YG Entertainment, "Gashina" is a dancehall-style synthpop number that rocks an Eastern-style atmosphere and a distinct rhythmic bass sound.

The 26-year-old chanteuse also shared her thoughts about leaving JYP Entertainment where she began her music career 10 years ago.
"It was difficult leaving JYP. Personally I'm the type of person who tends to be afraid of unfamiliar and different situations. But I decided to move on after asking myself whether my views have been too limited in scope," she said.

"I'm grateful that all the members have contacted me and sent their support. They said they love the teaser and wished for my success," she told reporters.
Outside of Wonder Girls, the 25-year-old singer has enjoyed moderate success as a solo artist. She released her first solo single album "24 Hours," followed by her EP album "Full Moon" in 2014. (Yonhap)
