Jung Chae-yeon, formerly a member of project girl group I.O.I, offered advice to newly debuted boy band Wanna One in a recent interview with a local fashion magazine.

I.O.I was formed through the first season of Mnet’s survival audition show “Produce 101.” The show brought together 101 trainees from local entertainment agencies to compete for a spot in a new 11-member girl group. The group disbanded after a year.

The second season of the Mnet show again featured 101 trainees to compete for a spot, this time in a boy band later dubbed Wanna One. The 11 members will work together as a group for 18 months until December 2018.

As a senior singer who underwent the same path, Jung said, “Definitely take care of your health and cheer up! I know better than anyone else that you will live in a whirl of filming.”

“I felt the separation was real since four months before the disbandment of I.O.I. As (the members of) Wanna One will be together for longer time, I think the members will feel more bittersweet. Make many good memories and have a memorable time,” she added.
