K-pop girl group GFriend will drop a new EP album next month, its management agency said Thursday.

The band's fifth EP album "Parallel" is scheduled to come out Aug. 1, Source Music said. It will be the band's first new material since "The Awakening" released in March.

The six-member act -- Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB and Umji -- has emerged as one of the fastest rising K-pop girl groups today, having several back-to-back hits, including "Rough" and "Navillera."

"We hope that the band will produce another summer hit song, having seasonal hits 'Me Gusta Tu' and 'Navillera' under its belt,"
the company said. (Yonhap)
