Actor Kang Ha-neul is set to enlist in the military on Sept. 11, according to Sem Company on Wednesday.

“The actor wants a low-key enlistment. He used to say that he wants to join the Army soon, but we also got to know about the enlistment date through a media report,” the agency said.

Earlier in the day, a local media outlet reported Kang’s enlistment date and that the actor would serve under the military police who take charge of escorting important people.

Due to his enlistment, Kang will withdraw from OCN’s upcoming crime-thriller drama “Bad Guys 2,” which will start filming later in July.

He recently starred in the action flick “Midnight Runners,” which is set to hit local theaters in August. He will still participate in all of the scheduled promotional activities for the film.
