Actor Kim Soo-hyun on Tuesday denied media reports that he would be enlisting for mandatory military service in September.

“He has not even received his draft notice yet so we don’t know the date of enlistment,” Kim’s agency Keyeast said. “We will officially announce (the enlistment date) when the date is confirmed.”

Kim earlier said in a press interview to promote his latest film “Real” that he hopes to play one more role before he joins military service.

A local media outlet reported Monday that Kim would enlist in September, citing advertising officials, “Kim requested to the advertiser for which he has been modeling that he needs to wrap up all his public schedules by August.”

The report also quoted production companies which tried to cast Kim in their new dramas, “Keyeast refused (casting offers).”

He was originally set to serve as a public service worker instead of an active-duty soldier due to a heart disease he suffered in his childhood, but he underwent reexamination in 2012 and qualified for active duty.
