Song Joong-ki, after making the surprise announcement to wed his “Descendants of the Sun” co-star Song Hye-kyo, appeared in front of the public for his upcoming movie “Battleship Island,” Friday.

Last week, Song announced that he will marry the actress who is three years his senior on Halloween.

At the movie press conference held in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, Song elaborated on his marriage plans: “Song Hye-kyo is a senior (in the film industry) and a good friend. There is much to learn from her and when I’m with her I receive a lot of positive energy.”

Song expressed gratitude for the fans who congratulated the couple.

“Battleship Island” is set to hit theaters on July 26.
