Song Joong-ki will appear on V app Friday to promote his upcoming historical film “Battleship Island,” Song’s agency Blossom Entertainment said on Wednesday.

It will be the first public appearance Song will make after his surprise wedding announcement with Song Hye-kyo Wednesday morning.

Their management agencies Blossom Entertainment and UAA said through a joint statement the two will get married on Oct. 31.

“Since marriage is also between families -- as well as between individuals -- they had to be careful. ... The two had to be cautious (about their relationship) until it bore fruit in matrimony,” the agencies said.

Accompanying Song on Friday’s broadcast will be his co-stars on the film including Hwang Jung-min, So Ji-sub and Lee Jung-hyun.
