G-Dragon tops brand image chart

South Korean singer Kwon Ji-yong, better known as G-Dragon, topped the chart for brand image of singers for the month of June, followed by Twice and Bangtan Boys.

The big data-based survey from the Korea Reputation Center analyzed consumers’ participation, media use, communication and community from May 23 through Sunday.

“G-Dragon topped our brand reputation survey, being the first Korean solo artist to come in first place on the Billboard Albums Chart for two consecutive weeks. He participated in composing and songwriting for all five songs on his new album,” said Koo Chang-hwan, director of the institute.

G-Dragon is a rapper, singer-songwriter, producer and fashion model. After six years training under record label YG Entertainment,

G-Dragon rose to fame in the mid-2000s as one of two rappers in hip-hop boy band Big Bang. Despite its initial lukewarm response, the group became one of the most popular groups in Asia.
