Cable channel Mnet, which produced the idol audition program “Produce 101,” has released a teaser video for a new K-pop project.

At the end of the last episode of season two of “Produce 101” aired Friday, the channel revealed a short teaser video of “Idol School.” In the video, a huge number of participants filled a large stadium and danced to “Cause You’re Pretty,” the title song of the program

The video hinted at greater competition among wannabe K-pop stars, as the number of contestants appeared to exceed that of “Produce 101” by a wide margin.

The new program features a school in which future idol singers will compete for 11 weeks. The finalists will make debut as the members of a new female K-pop group.

Unlike “Produce 101,” which invited trainees from local talent agencies, the new program will feature participants who are ordinary people. It is set to kick off on July 13.
