“Hello Korea, I am so happy to hear how much you‘re enjoying ‘Mummy’, because we made it for you. I’m very excited by your responses, and I look forward to coming and visiting you soon,” he said.

“Enjoy the rest of your summer. Thank you,” he added.

Ever since he first came to Korea in 1994 to promote “Interview with the Vampire,” Cruise has been visiting the country to promote his films. He had his eighth visit to Korea in November last year to promote “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.”

Directed by Alex Kurtzman, “The Mummy,” which hit Korean theaters Tuesday, is a reboot of “The Mummy” franchise that kicked off in 1999.

The film also stars Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, Marwan Kenzari and Russell Crowe.
