Fantagio Entertainment’s second actor group “5urprise U” will launch a short film via Naver TV and live streaming app V on Wednesday, the agency announced.

Fantagio has a group called “5urprise” comprised of actors Seo Kang-joon, Gong Myung, Lee Tae-hwan, Yoo-il and Kang Tae-oh.

Since February, the management agency had been hinting that it would form a second group of junior actors to take up the baton from its first group, “5surprise.”

The “U” in the new group’s name stands for “urban” and “unique,” said the agency.

“5urprise U” is already gaining attention for having Ong Sung-woo on board. He is a contestant in the second season of the ongoing survival audition program “Produce 101.”

Fans are curious to find out if Ong will stay in the program for the chance to join a project K-pop boy band or debut as an actor with his agency Fantagio, which told local media that Ong is focusing on “Produce 101” and that his future will depend on how he fares in the audition program.

The short film by “5urprise U” airs Wednesday. The group will hold its debut showcase on July 7 with its finalized members.
