BTS gets media attention in US

Billboard Magazine covered the K-pop juggernaut and its producer Bang Si-hyuk, also known as “Hitman Bang,” in its April 15 issue.
“With social change in mind, BTS is making the strongest impression on US listeners since Psy,” the article said.
It is rare for the US music media to give a Korean artist so much coverage.
“Since K-pop is not mainstream, Billboard usually (only) covers it in online articles,” an official from US music PR firm Effective Immediately said. “This article means a lot.”
People magazine, one of the most-read magazines in the US, also held an interview with the boy band, which was released on its website Tuesday.
The seven-member group received a nomination for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards for top social media artist alongside Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande and Shawn Mendes.
BTS will hit Bangkok on its Asian leg of the concert tour on April 22-23 and then head to Jakarta, Manila and Hong Kong.
