Photos of celebrities wearing similar bracelets are going viral on social media. The bracelets differ in color but carry the same “butterfly” and “cosmos flower” shaped ornaments.

Why are celebs sharing pictures of themselves wearing these bracelets?

The butterfly-and-cosmos shaped accessories are an expression of support for the victims of Japanese sex slavery during World War II. The House of Sharing, a nursing home for surviving victims in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, has been selling bracelets since January 2016 to promote a campaign helping the victims.

Wearing the bracelet delivers a message that “We hope victims get back their flower-like youth” ? reflected in the cosmos flowers -- and the butterfly represents “girl’s purity” and “hope.”

The campaign gained little support at first, but with celebrities joining the campaign and sharing bracelet photos on social media, more and more people have become aware of the project.

Here is a list of celebrities who joined the campaign on social media.
