In July 2016 when a rumor about their relationship was reported by Chinese media outlets, Joo and Zhang denied the reports and said they are just friends.

They met each other filming for a Chinese drama “Honey, I am Sorry,” which is yet to be aired.

Joo, who debuted in 1999, played lead roles in TV shows and films, such as “Beloved Eun-dong” (2015), “A Frozen Flower” (2008) and “200 Pounds Beauty” (2006).

Zhang built up her career with a role in the 2007 drama “Gold Earring” and went on to star in “Men” (2011), “Duo Duo‘s Marriage” (2011) and “Love’s Relativity” (2014).
