Red Velvet celebrated the Lunar New Year holiday Sunday by playing “yut nori,” a traditional board game played in South Korea during the holidays.

“It is Seollal (Lunar New Year),” the members of the girl group shouted as they appeared in front of the camera on Naver’s V app. Joy was absent from the broadcast as she was filming for a Korean drama.

The remaining four members -- Irene, Seulgi, Yeri and Wendy -- broke up into teams of two and began playing the game. Seulgi and Irene competed against Yeri and Wendy.

One player in the team threw the four “yut” -- sticks used like dice to determine how many steps a team’s token can move -- while the other player moved on the board as a human game token.

Every time a player stepped into an area marked “red” in the game, the given person had to complete a task written on a red slip that she drew from a container.

While playing the game, Red Velvet members performed freestyle dance moves as well as impersonated famous actors and their signature lines from Korean dramas. They also completed various dares mandated by the red slips -- which included Yeri giving Wendy a playful kiss on the cheek.

During the first game, Yeri rolled high-number yut combinations consecutively, leading her team to victory extremely quickly. The second game lasted a bit longer, with Irene winning the match.

“It was my first time playing ‘yut nori’ and I have to say it was so much fun,” said Yeri.

“My family and I used to play this game every time we met for the (Lunar New Year) holidays. Really, ‘yut nori” is such an unpredictable game,” said Irene.

“I used to play ‘yut nori’ when I was really young, and this reminded me of fun memories from the past. I wish Joy was here too. Maybe next year all five of us can play again,” Wendy said.

On behalf of Red Velvet, Irene wrapped up the day’s broadcast, wishing all of their fans and viewers a happy New Year and good wishes for the holidays.

2PM appeared on the V app Sunday to invite fans to tune in to their upcoming reality TV show “2PM Wildbeat” which begins airing on Feb. 1.

“2PM Wildbeat” is a reality TV show featuring the six-members of 2PM going on a “wild adventure” to Australia. The group had traveled to the continent back in November 2016 to film the show.

“Last year, we went somewhere to film for something. That project is now being revealed to the world at last,” said Wooyoung.

“All six of us were crowded into a small room, while sleeping in bunk beds. Every moment of it was real,” said Junsu.

“Although I’m super excited about the show, I’m a bit worried because we will be continuously appearing without makeup. I hope you won’t hate us after this,” said Nichkhun.

The first episode of “2PM Wildbeat” will air at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 via the Korean cable channel K-Star.
