The 18 most popular K-pop groups on the V app were recently selected through an online voting campaign held across 249 countries.

Those top 10 global artists were Apink, Big Bang, BTOB, BTS, EXO, GOT7, Infinite, Monsta X, Seventeen and Twice.

The top five rookie groups globally were ASTRO, BlackPink, I.O.I, KNK and NCT.

Meanwhile, those who emerged top on the Special V Live were Lee seung-hwan, Girl’s Day and Park Bo-young.

The campaign was held between Jan. 1 and Dec. 23, 2016.

It looked at the “V points” that each artist or group accumulated during the period. Other factors considered included the number of times the artists’ videos were played as well as the number of hearts and comments they received.

The awards ceremony for the winning groups will be broadcast live from Wednesday to Jan. 25.
