Choi Yoo-jung and Kim Do-yeon, members of project girl group I.O.I are preparing to debut in a new girl group. The two members have signed exclusive contracts with Fantagio.

“We are planning for Choi Yoo-jung and Kim Do-yeon to debut in a new girl group. If it happens quickly, it may be around summer this year,” said Fantagio on Jan. 2. “We are still at the stage of producing a group. So it’s too early to say anything specific about the group concept or members right at the moment.”

I.O.I is releasing a single this month and wrapping up the group promotions with solo concerts from Jan. 20 to 22.

The agency also said, “Choi and Kim need to recharge their batteries before applying themselves for new group practice.” “Kim has also shown her interest in acting. We are open to possibilities.”

The new girl group will to be with Choi Yoo-jung and Kim Do-yeon as the group leaders.
