K-pop girl group Momoland held an exclusive end-of-the-year award ceremony and fan meeting on Friday night, streaming the event live on Naver’s V app.

The night’s event was co-hosted by South Korean comedian Boom and Jui of Momoland.

“There are a lot of award ceremonies being hosted by TV broadcasters today. But why should we watch other people receive awards? We should be having fun on our own,” Boom said.

“This is the first award ceremony that Momoland is partaking in, and I’m very nervous to be hosting it today. Nonetheless, I am so happy to be with all our fans today,” Jui said.

Of the seven members of Momoland, Yeonwoo was unable to attend due to her poor health.

The first award, for the prettiest person in the world, went to Nancy.
“I am thrilled to have received this award. I didn’t expect this at all. Thank you everyone and love you,” she said.

The next award, queen of training, went to Ahin, breaking Nayun’s prediction that Jane would be receiving it.

“I didn’t expect to win this award. Thank you for giving me such a valuable title,” Ahin said in her acceptance speech.

The crazy presence award went to Momoland’s manager and their dog Summer. “I’m honored to be receiving an award with a dog. I bet no one has ever done such a thing,” the manager said.

The hard carry award was given to Nayoun. “Hard carry” is Korean slang used to refer to someone who successfully leads a team to victory.

“I knew this would be my award. Thank you so much. What a great award this is,” said Nayoun.

The vitamin angel award, given to the member who revitalizes Momoland and fans like a vitamin, was given to Hyebin.

“I know that I’ve always played a positive, vitamin-like role at Momoland. I’m so happy to have lived up to my title by winning this award,” Hyebin said.

In addition to partaking in the award ceremony, Momoland also took time to look back at their most memorable events in the past year, and shared gifts with fans during the Friday fan meeting.

Brand New Music, South Korea’s top agency for hip hop musicians, held a year-end concert featuring all of its in-house artists.

The concert, held at the Yes 24 Live Hall in northeastern Seoul, was live streamed through the V app for fans who could not attend the concert in person.

The four-hour concert showcased not only the agency’s artists, including San E, Verbal JInt and P-Type but also guest rappers including MC Mong, Microdot, Park Jun-myun, Kim Giri, Yang Mi-ra and Kang Seung-hyun, who represented Brand New Music on the TV program “Tribe of Hip Hop.”

The concert opened with MC Gree, who performed his debut single “Nineteen” and “How We,” followed by a lively performance from female rap duo Miss $.

Verbal Jint performed his hit singles such as “You Look Good” and told fans that he is currently in the process of preparing many new songs.

“I’ve prepared a lot of new songs as of now, but I think it’s too early to share them. I will return with them once they are completely finished,” Verbal JInt said.

The Brand New Music artists wrapped up the night’s concert by performing “Better Tomorrow” and “Brand New Day,” wishing fans a “brand new year, and a happy new year.”
