“I listened to the song again and again, until its cassette tape was unraveled and no longer available,” said the rookie singer, referring to Uhm‘s hit song “Festival.” “I got a crush on the song when I was very young, but it was not until years later that I found out the title of the song.”

She added “Dancing Queen,” a comedy flick starring Uhm, gave her a sense of inspiration.

“The message it tried to convey was, anyone can achieve their dream no matter how old they are,” Kim said. “The movie offered me a realistic, genuine way to interpret the message.”

The interview was a part of “Talk About Uhm Jung-hwa” series, designed by Mystic Entertainment to promote the release of “The Cloud Dream of the Nine.” Kim was the third to participate in the interview, following Jung Woo-sung and Kim Hye-soo. Shin Min-ah will become the fourth celebrity to endorse Uhm.

Born in 1969, Uhm debuted in 1992 as a pop singer and has since released nine full-length albums. She has also dedicated herself to acting and has seen success in hit movies such as “Singles,” “Haeundae,” as well as “Dancing Queen” Kim mentioned.

Uhm is also the elder sister of Uhm Tae-woong.

The full-length clip of girl group EXID‘s performance in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Wednesday has become available Tuesday.

EXID was invited to ‘Pond’s Beauty Standard, Welcome Your Idol’ and performed for about 40 minutes. They sang hit songs such as “L.I.E,” “Every Night,” “Hot Pink,” “Ah Yeah” and “Up & Down.”
