“Guardian,” a romance drama on tvN, found its way into the headlines Tuesday following its parody of the hit KBS drama “Descendants of the Sun.”

During the sixth episode of “Guardian” which aired last Saturday, Grim Reaper Wang Yeo, played by Lee Dong-wook, turned invisible just before meeting Sunny and recited a line that was similar to a line in “Descendants of the Sun.”

Lee said, “I am a Grim Reaper. Grim Reapers follow orders. Sometimes who I believe is Sun-hee might be Sunny to another.”

This was a rearranged version of a line from “Descendants of the Sun,” when Song Joong-ki said, “I am a soldier. Soldiers follow orders. Sometimes what I believe is good and right means something else to another.”

Both dramas were written by screenwriter Kim Eun-sook, which explains the similar use of the line. Viewers praised Kim for plugging a nostalgic line from her previous drama.
