Chinese fans spend exorbitant amount on Chanyeol’s birthday

The members of Chanyeol’s Chinese fan club, called Chanyeol Bar, reportedly bought ad space on the Nasdaq Tower billboard in the middle of Times Square New York, to send a birthday message to the idol.

The cost for a monthlong ad on the Nasdaq Tower billboard is roughly 3 billion won ($3 million) and a weeklong ad reportedly costs around 700 million won ($700,000).
In Korea, fans also showered the EXO member with birthday messages by buying ad space at several subway stations around Seoul, including Samseong, Gangnam, Sadang and Dangsan stations.
