CL of South Korean girl group 2NE1 set out on her first-ever solo North America tour, her agency said on Sunday.

The 25-year-old female rapper threw the first party of her "HELLO BI+CHES TOUR 2016" at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on Saturday, U.S. time, YG Entertainment said in a press release.

The K-pop artist will hold concerts in a total of nine cities in the U.S. and Canada.

The New York concert kicked off with an introductory video presentation of CL's personal history, from her childhood to her musical debut and the present. Then the rapper exploded onto the stage with "Fire," one of the greatest hits of 2NE1, re-arranged for a solo performance.

The performance lineup was a combination of re-arrangements of 2NE1 hits such as "Can't Nobody," "I Am the Best," "I Don't Care"
and "Falling in Love," and solo works by CL like "The Baddest Female," "MTBD," "Dr. Pepper" and "Lifted."

CL has cultivated her music career in the U.S. after 2NE1's group activities went dormant indefinitely following the release of its last EP "Crush" in February 2014.

In April 2016, the band became a trio after the departure of its youngest member, Gong Minzy.

In August, CL had her official U.S. solo debut with her EP "Lifted."

Her next "HELLO BI+CHES TOUR 2016" concerts will be held in eight more cities including Seattle, Vancouver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Atlanta and Toronto. (Yonhap)
