The 2016 Asian Music Awards will announce nominees and open voting polls on Friday at 6 p.m.

The nominees will be announced through a special broadcast which will last an hour on channel Mnet. Online voting will commence at 7 p.m. after the nominees are announced, and will remain open until Dec. 1.

The ceremony will take place on Dec. 2 at the Asia World-Expo in Hong Kong.

MAMA, which launched in 1999, has expanded into one of the top K-pop award ceremonies, and the latest announcement signals the fifth consecutive year in which Hong Kong has been selected to host the prestigious awards ceremony.
