Ko Shin-won of rookie boy band Pentagon will cease activities due to a knee injury, merely two weeks after the group’s official debut, according to his agency Cube Entertainment on Monday.

Cube Entertainment said in a statement that Ko Shin-won, who went by the stage name Shinwon, suffered an injury to his right knee while broadcasting live through Naver’s V app Saturday.

“It is not a career-threatening injury, but doctors recommended he abstain from intense workouts or going forward with his schedule,” read the statement. “We decided to put his activity on pause for the sake of his knee recovery.”

Ko took part in a fan event Sunday despite the injury, hobbling on crutches.

Pentagon will continue its activities as a nine-member group, without a temporary member to fill in for Ko.
