2NE1's CL to launch North America tour

CL of South Korean girl group 2NE1 will embark on her first solo concert tour in North America next month, the group's agency said on Friday.

"CL will be kicking off her much anticipated 'Hello Bitches Tour 2016' in New York on Oct. 29, followed by eight other major cities in North America, YG Entertainment said in a press release.

The tour will also hit Seattle on Oct. 31, Vancouver on Nov. 1, San Francisco on Nov. 3, Los Angeles on Nov. 4, Dallas on Nov. 6, Atlanta on Nov. 8, Chicago on Nov. 10 and Toronto on Nov. 14.

The singer-rapper debuted in the United States with her first solo English-language EP "Lifted" last month. She ranked No. 17 on Billboard's Social 50 chart. The chart rates artists' popularity on various social-networking websites. The rapper later graced the pages of high profile U.S. publications including Time, Entertainment Weekly and USA Today.

CL recently appeared on U.S. late-night talk show "The Late Late Show with James Corden," where she performed the album's lead single "Lifted," captivating the audience.

Last year, CL performed alongside world-renowned artists in "Mad Decent Block Party," an annual concert launched by American record label Mad Decent, spearheaded by eminent DJ Diplo.

CL is a multi-talented artist who began her career as the leader of arguably one of the most successful South Korean girl groups 2NE1. The rapper's powerful and alluring performances have drawn the world's attention.
