Zico, a rapper and member of hip-hop group Block B, recently talked about how he had anticipated the media spotlight to be on his relationship with AOA’s Seolhyun, in Wednesday’s episode of MBC’s talk show “Radio Star.”

Zico said he had been “prepared” for the breaking of the news.

“I was aware that the media will cover (my dating Seolhyun) soon,” he said. “Acquaintances told me some paparazzi had taken our photos.”

However, when he finally got wind of news reports, he was still surprised. When he was asleep on a trip in Japan, he got a call from his agency.

“One of our managers told me, ‘(Details of) you dating are surfacing, the media is covering it,’ in a very calm voice.” Zico said.

One of the hosts of “Radio Star,” Kim Gu-ra, told Zico that news of his relationship was “much-needed refreshment” in a world “full of bad news.”

When asked about when he began to like Seolhyun, Zico said he “started to like her without knowing why,” and he was “extra cautious about building it up.”
