Kim Min-Seok, from the popular SBS drama “Doctors,” recently spoke about his decision to shave his hair off for a storyline in the hit TV show.

Kim told Yonhap News Agency over the phone that it took him over two hours to decide on whether he really wanted to shave his hair off.

“I put a bottle of alcohol in front of me thinking ‘I should make a decision before this is empty,’” Kim said. “It took like two or three hours (to make up my mind).”

Kim added that he was told it was not necessary to shave his real hair, however, he decided to go through with the plan because he “didn’t want to fake it.”

The much-deliberated scene, filmed on Friday, only took four minutes, Kim said.

Kim is playing Choi Kang-soo, a junior-level neurosurgeon and colleague of Yoo Hye-jung (Park Shin-hye) and Hong Ji-hong (Kim Rae-won) who is later diagnosed with brain cancer.
