Yoona from K-pop girl group Girls’ Generation will star in the upcoming drama “K2” on cable channel tvN alongside actor Ji Chang-wook and actresses Song Yoon-A and Son Tae-young.

The drama will start airing from Sept. 23 as a replacement of the Korean version of “Good Wife.”

“K2” is an action drama about a character named Kim Jae-ha (Ji), who used to be a mercenary soldier and is hired by a Choi Yoo-jin (Song), an affluent wife of Jang Se-joon, a presidential candidate. Kim is said to show martial arts skills in the drama.

Yoona plays the role of Anna Ko, an illegitimate daughter of Jang, whose existence fuels a conflict between Jang and Choi. Anna gradually falls in love with Kim, who helps her overcome her hurts she got in childhood.

Son, the wife of actor Kwon Sang-woo, will play the role of Anna’s mother.
