Amid growing concern that China plans to impose an apparent statewide ban on Korean entertainment contents, Korean-Chinese rom-com flick “Unexpected Love” is reported to be released in the Chinese market, local media reported Monday.

China’s General Office of Broadcasting and Television recently granted permission to release “Unexpected Love” in fall this year at the earliest, Edaily reported.

This came after local reports said a Chinese TV drama featuring Krystal, “Graduation Season,” had been banned from airing in China.

“Unexpected Love” costars boy band EXO‘s Lay and girl group f(x)’s Krystal and centers on the budding relationship between artists from Korea and China through dance. The movie is a collaborative project that features both Korean and Chinese actors and is directed by Korean filmmaker Seong Si-heup
