Actress Kim Joo-hyun will reportedly not play the lead role in the upcoming SBS TV series “My Sassy Girl.”

Kim has been preparing for the acting partner of top actor Joo Won, since she won the audition competition which involved popular vote in June. She was picked out of some 1,800 competitors.

According to a report by Sports Chosun, the series‘ broadcaster is apparently seeking a high-profile actress for the female lead,

The report also said that the producer of the show presented Kim with two options: take the supporting role or quit. The report indicated that she would take the supporting role.

The periodic series, inspired by the eponymous film that brought actress Jun Ji-hyun to stardom, sought a female lead through a month-long audition. The series is slated to premiere in the first half of next year.
