Chinese K-pop stars express dissent over South China Sea dispute
Chinese members from Korean pop groups are expressing dissent over the Permanent Court of Arbitration’s ruling in favor of the Philippines, which concluded that China has no legal basis to claim rights to a bulk of the South China Sea.
The international tribunal had reached the verdict on Tuesday.

PCA stated that China does not have the right to resources within the “nine-dash line,” a demarcation line claimed by China for resources in the major part of the South China Sea.
The Philippines had filed a complaint against China in 2013, accusing China of interfering with fishing and thereby violating international laws. It had also asked the PCA to reject China’s claim to rights within the “nine-dash line.”
