Singer-actor Jung Yong-hwa of boy group CNBLUE on Monday attended the press conference for Chinese blockbuster “Emperors Cook Up a Storm” in Foshan, China.

“I was attracted by the role of a chef and it’s a very charming character,” Jung told the Chinese reporters. “Also, it was an opportunity to work with actors, including Nicholas Tse. So I immediately accepted the role.”

“I have starred in TV dramas in Korea but this is my first movie. I worried a lot, but the director and coactors helped me out a lot so it was a fun experience. I am excited.”

In the gastronomy-themed flick, Jung plays a top chef of a restaurant with three Michelin stars.

The film already drew attention for its mega budget of 46 billion won ($38.5 million) produced by Hong-Kong based Emperor Motion Pictures.
