MBC drama series “Marriage Contract” topped viewer ratings on Sunday, beating competitors.

According to local researcher Nielsen Korea, the nationwide viewership ratings of “Marriage Contract,” starring actor Lee Seo-jin and singer-actress U-IE, reached 22.4 percent in its final episode, which aired Sunday.

Its competitors took less than 10 percent of viewer shares Sunday. The viewer ratings of SBS’s “Mrs. Cop 2” stood at 9.3 percent, while KBS2 comedy show “Gag Concert” hit 8.9 percent.

The final episode ended as single mom Kang Hye-soo (U-IE), who was diagnosed with a brain tumor, makes a bad-tempered scion (Lee Seo-jin) change and realize what true love is.

The TV drama series will be followed by “The Flower in Prison,” a 50-episode periodic series starring actor Ko Soo and actress Jin Se-yun.
