Actor Song Joong-ki, the star of hit TV drama series “Descendants of the Sun,” will appear in a popular Chinese variety show in May, local news reported on Friday.

Song will star in “Happy Camp,” a renowned variety show by satellite television channel Hunan TV, from May 10-12.

The broadcaster announced the news on its social media account.

In the drama “Descendants of the Sun,” which had its finale last week, Song played Yoo Si-jin, a special forces soldier, opposite actress Song Hye-kyo. His popularity has skyrocketed since then.

He is set to visit eight cities to meet fans, starting with Beijing on May 14. He will be in Wuhan on May 21; Guangzhou and Shenzhen from May 27-28; Shanghai on June 5; Hong Kong on June 11; Chengdu on June 17; and Taiwan on June 25.
