In the drama, he will play Seo Joong-won, the partner of a law firm, who will help the female lead Kim Hye-kyung, played by Jeon, to successfully resume her career as a lawyer after a long break.

“I am already excited and nervous to act together with veterans Jeon Do-yeon and Yoo Ji-tae,” he said in a statement. “I will do my best. I ask for viewers’ interest and attention.”

“The Good Wife” is about a woman who returns to her old job as a lawyer after her attorney husband is jailed following political and sex scandals. The CBS drama, which premiered in the U.S. in 2009, has garnered critical acclaim.

The Korean remake is being helmed by director Lee Jeong-hyo, who was behind “I Need Romance” and “Witch’s Romance.”

The drama is set to air in July.
