“Descendants of the Sun” star Song Joong-ki will appear on KBS’ main evening news program Wednesday, local news reported Tuesday.

Song will appear on “KBS News 9” at 9 p.m. to talk about the sensationally popular drama.

In the military romance drama, the 30-year-old actor plays Yoo Si-jin, a brave special forces captain who woos a surgeon played by Song Hye-kyo.

The drama’s popularity is exploding, with its latest episode surpassing 30 percent viewership nationwide last week.

“Descendants of the Sun” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m.
