Model and actor Do Sang-woo will begin his mandatory military service from April 5, his management agency Taxi Entertainment announced Tuesday.

“There will be no special event, since he wants to enlist as other ordinary people do,” added his agency.

Do made her debut as a fashion model at Seoul Fashion Week in 2008, and started his acting career with Korean cable channel tvN’s drama series “Flower Boy Ramen Shop” in 2011.

The 28-year-old actor has appeared in various TV dramas, such as “It’s Okay, It’s Love” (2014), “Legend of the Witch” (2014) and his latest work “My Daughter, Geum Sa-wol,” which ended in February.

Military service is compulsory in Korea -- a country that is still technically at war with its northern neighbor -- and generally goes for twenty-one months.
