Eight-member girl group AOA’s Seolhyun has been named an ambassador for the upcoming general election in April.

The singer was selected Thursday by the National Election Commission alongside other three prime time news anchors from KBS, SBS and MBC.

The organization held an appointment ceremony on the same day, and presented her with a letter of appointment.

“Singer-actress Seolhyun is garnering much love from the public, and is highly anticipated to help establish a healthy election culture in our society,” said Kim Yong-hee, a secretary-general of the organization.

“I will try my best as a representative to encourage people to vote and promote such a healthy culture,” said Seolhyun.

The 21-year-old singer will have photo shoots for TV commercials and promotional material regarding the election.

The 20th National Assembly election will be held on April 13.
