A new poster of KBS 2TV’s new drama series “Descendants of the Sun” released Tuesday, features a kiss between actor Song Joong-ki and actress Song Hye-kyo, who both play lead roles in the series.

The poster shows strong chemistry between the two. The drama is set against the backdrop of a land with extremely harsh living conditions where buildings have been reduced to ashes. Actor Song will play Special Forces Capt. Yoo Shi-jin deployed to the area while actress Song will play a surgeon, a member of a volunteer group of doctors.

“I regard the TV series as romance drama,” actor Song said in a press promotion on Monday.

Actor Jin Goo, actress Kim Ji-won and SHINee’s Onew also star in the upcoming series.

The first episode of “Descendant of the Sun” will be aired in Korea on KBS 2TV on Wednesday at 10 p.m. local time. It will also be available on the online video streaming platform iQiyi in China at the same time.
