Actor Seo Kang-joon’s selfie event, planned for Tuesday afternoon in Seoul, was canceled due to the overwhelming crowd, local media reported.

Seo, 22, who plays In-ho in tvN’s popular TV series “Cheese in the Trap,” pledged to hold a selfie event with fans if viewer ratings of the series tops 5 percent, a milestone figure.

As the third episode recorded viewership ratings of 5.4 percent, Seo promised to treat fans 100 cups of coffee on a first-come-first-served basis starting at 4 p.m. at a coffee shop in Daehangno.

However, Seo’s agency Fantasio canceled the event citing “safety concerns.”

“We were concerned about his safety because of the huge crowd,” said a staff of Fantasio. “We would like to apologize to fans.”

The staff added that holding another fan meeting event has not yet been decided.
