K-pop singer Se7en, whose real name is Choi Dong-wook, will return to the music scene in April, breaking a four-year-hiatus, local news reported Sunday.

Se7en is currently preparing for the new album, which will be released around mid-April, his acquaintance was quoted as saying in the report.

The upcoming album is Se7en’s first release since his last album “Se7en New Mini Album” -- and the title track “When I Can’t Sing” -- in February 2012. In 2013, he began his mandatory military service and was discharged in December 2014.

Last year, he made a successful musical stage debut in “Elisabeth,” playing the role of “Death,” or “Der Tod,” a famous mysterious role that was previously played by popular K-pop star Kim Jun-su of JYJ during the show’s 2012-2013 run.
